About Botanical Vine

Walter and Eileen Brys, proprietors of Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City, Michigan, planted the first of 45,000 vines in 2001 and, in 2005, opened the doors to their tasting room. This 45-acre vineyard is just part of the 155 acres that makes up Brys Estate today.
 
The farm initially harvested cherries and apples, and the farm was active until the 1970s, when most all the fruit trees were removed. The land sat dormant until 2000, when the Brys family planted a cover crop in 2001 to enrich the soils before the first planting of the grape vines.
 
As you explore the Estate, the Secret Garden is below the rolling hills of the vineyards and hidden by tree lines. In this low-lying 12-acre parcel, you will find beautiful fields of lavender, natural herbs, and botanicals growing.

Walter and Eileen's daughter, Katie, and her husband, Azmi, were inspired by the place they called home and wanted to create a brand that celebrated not only the beauty that nature gives but also the benefits of the things that were grown on the land where they live and work. Knowing that the amazing properties of both wine and botanicals can help and enrich the skin's texture, they began combining the properties of the grapes and these natural ingredients, creating cleansing and calming soaps and nutrient-rich lotions. From this, Botanical Vine was born.

Today, we welcome visitors who want a respite from the hectic pace of daily life to the Estate, the Secret Garden, and the vast Lavender Fields. This is a special place to relax and renew amid our area's incredible natural beauty. Come experience it for yourself. Sip a glass of wine in the tasting room, sip a glass of lavender lemonade on the Secret Garden Patio, and wander amid the lavender fields and vibrant flowers.
